What is Multiple Sclerosis (MS)?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic
progressive (and currently incurable) disease of the nervous system,
involving the loss of the myelin sheath around
certain nerve fibers,
causing damage to the nervous system. It is an auto-immune disease
where the body's immune system attacks itself, targeting the
brain,
spinal cord and optic nerves - eventually causing progressing levels of
disability.
